On Sunday, 4 June, the persons in charge of the Catholic Church of St. Elizabeth, Kyrenia, found that thieves had broken into our small church and had stolen the 14 station of the Way of the Cross, three icons and the bronze crucifix used on the altar during the Holy Mass.  Police was called immediately, who started the investigation.   Also the authorities were informed of what had happened. They seem to be concerned about it.

On 4 June, the Franciscan Father did not want to celebrate the Holy Mass inside the church that was profaned. The Mass was celebrated outside.
Now, the parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Nicosia, Fr. Umberto Barato ofm, responsable of the church in Kyrenia, has already talked with the people, who usually take care of the church, about the reparation of the sacred place and, of course, of the re-inforcement of the windows and the door of the church.  We naturally want to purchase another set of the Stations of the Cross: without it the church is not complete. People willing to contribute in this work are welcome. They can contact Mr. Ilicos Liatsos in Kyrenia or also contact can be made through these numbers:
